Camp Honor was started to get our heroes into the outdoors to experience the healing power of nature.

OUR MISSION

We aim to reduce veteran and first responder suicide and the impact of trauma on our nation’s heroes by offering hunting and peer support as a means to start the healing process.

WHAT WE DO

We provide all expense paid hunting opportunities for veterans and first responders. During these hunts, the hunter will be accompanied by experienced guides who are trained in peer
support. Each hunt will provide an opportunity and atmosphere for emotional healing.

HOW WE DO IT

Our volunteer Board of professionals, including veterans and first responders, aims to ensure the most deserving recipients are awarded. Our board also works diligently to secure funding from any available resources to maximize our reach.

WHO WE ARE

Camp Honor was started in 2024 by Matt Simmons, a career firefighter and United States Navy veteran. Through 28 years of serving his country and community, he has seen first-hand the effects of PTSD on those who serve their communities. In his experience, there has been very limited resources available to help with PTSD and a stigma for those who seek traditional assistance. Through his own journey, Matt found that through his foundations of Faith, Family, and Hunting, he was able to unintentionally build tools for resilience. He now wants to share those tools for those who have sacrificed so much.
